Think back to what I told you about 60's fashion. We had the hippies and the mod and the mini skirts. Now, add 10 years and 100 more styles; you've got the 70's. They discovered the maxi dress, hot pants and evening trousers.
We also see a few halter necks thrown into the mix.
Take a look at this diamond check mini dress, it screams 1970's.
We started seeing wide leg denim as a strong trend, which has recently re-emerged.
How can we forget the platform shoes (re-incarnated by the Spice Girls in the 90's, quickly fizzling out, for which I am very grateful.)
We also began to see fashion based on punk music which meant straight legged jeans, and introduced a somewhat disheveled look.
