I am beginning my "Designer Fridays" segment with a known name. Mostly because I want my readers to understand the way I will be introducing the designers, and what they can expect to learn about them. Also, it never hurt anybody to know more about an old favourite!
Born in NYC. At fifteen Marc Jacobs worked as a stockboy at an avant-garde boutique called Charivari. He attended Parsons The New School For Design. This school is prestigious for birthing some of the most talented artists and designers that the world has seen. He designed a line of hand-knit sweaters while studying at Parsons, which actually sold quite well.
He was appointed Creative Director of Louis Vuitton in 1997, a position which he holds to this day.
He's known for his chic and modern designs and his tendency to design out-of-the-box collections.

Fantastic work, Mister Jacobs!
