I must introduce to you this wonderful recipe.
I am vegan, so when it's time for a barbeque it can be extra hard to find a dish that is suitable, especially if I'm a guest.
This dish is great for everyone and I think you should all give it a go.
STICKY TOFU KEBABS
1 (350g) pkg extra-firm tofu
12 pineapple chunks
12 red or green grapes (I prefer red)
2 tbsp each soy sauce and vegetable oil
1 1/2 tsp five-spice powder
1 to 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
Wooden or metal skewers
Cut tofu into large chunks and place in a medium bowl with pineapple and grapes. In a small bowl, stir soy sauce with oil and five-spice powder. Pour over tofu and fruit. Let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes to marinate.
Preheat barbecue then adjust to medium-high heat. Thread tofu and fruit on skewers. Gril until lightly charred, 5 to 7 minutes on each side, brushing with hoisin sauce during the last 2 or 3 minutes of cooking time.
