Summer Style

I don't know what it is (maybe being female?), but I'm getting bored of my wardrobe. I decided to change it up a bit this summer.

I thought I'd look for some summer staples that I could invest in and make them work.
Of course I choose my style tips from pictures of Rihanna, but who could resist?

I'll be trying out these cuff shorts, and this cropped shirt. I am still debating about the hat.

Love the loose fit linen, and this simple look will be easy to pull off.

Katy Perry may be a bit vibrant some times, but I think that's why we love her! And so, I must bring some more tight and bright into my life this summer.

Store Spotting: Lavish & Squalor

I promised I'd help you find those little unique shops with a bit more edge and flare for fashion forward females (and males). Well I found one, and it was by accident. I was walking down Queen St. West and I was attracted (of course) by a truly different window display. For whatever reason, I was intrigued and I entered this little shop with dim lighting and cabin appeal.

I saw key trends displayed in unique ways and was immediately greeted (but not pressured) by friendly staff. The prices were reasonable, but a bit above average. In all honesty though I think that the quality of the clothing and overall experience is worth a bit of extra cash.

You should check it out on a free day! I bet you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Earth Day Special

Happy Earth Day Patent Readers!

Today's blog will celebrate this important day when we observe our life choices and try to make a positive change that will help protect our planet (even though we should do this every day).
I know how much we love fashion (trust me!) but sometimes we should maybe consider making "greener" choices.

(I actually have a pair of bamboo tights and they are so-o-o comfortable!)

Necessary for Patent Girls

I went through this short stint of selling Avon. Wasn't for me. But it did have some perks, such as a chance to try out their products. I found this lip stain marker that literally stays on for my entire work day and I thought I should show you.
Just so I am not being biased, I also found other brands of this miracle lip colour that you can choose from (and I recommend you do)

Flares Are Back!

I didn't think this day would come, but it's here. The skinny jean is losing speed while the flare is gaining. I saw flares everywhere on the runway with Derek Lam saying that they "make legs look like they go on forever", which is perfectly fine with me.

It will be hard for me to re-adjust to this trend, seeing as last time flare jeans were popular I was 12. But I will try!

It finds all of the available items in your size based on the brands you said you were into, and then suggests other items you may like.

Mind you, if you're expecting a deal (sale prices are available), you shouldn't state your favourite luxury brand unless you're just browsing. I did this, and came across a Balenciaga dress for $3000. No thanks!

Who is...? Rachel Roy

Based out of Manhattan, this beautiful young entrepreneur has surprised the fashion world with her sophisticated level of design at such a relatively young age.

She started off her career with an internship at Rocawear, a well known clothing brand. At the time it was a new company, and she proved herself to be an important contributor. She became Creative Director in no time, overseeing all of seven clothing lines that Rocawear offered.

In 2004, she began her own self-titled line.

Since then, celebrities and fashion icons alike have been raving about her. I've seen her designs on Iman, Michelle Obama, Eva Mendes, the Tyra show and even Oprah!
