Do it with Denim

Today I was browsing through Winners (Yes, Winners), and I came across a section of the cutest denim dresses I have ever seen. It made me realize that not only is denim back, but it's better than ever.Inspired, I decided to scour the runway in the hopes of finding more ideas to do denim ASAP.

This is what I found

Chanel (Thing is, I wouldn't want my boyfriend wearing these.)

D&G (I love how they make denim up top and on the bottom work.)

DSquared (Some love for the Toronto Twins!)

Hermes (Not just scarves--)

Louis Vuitton (Try and get this hair)

Stella McCartney (Stylish creases, so British)

Stella McCartney (I had to give her two, this is like the Winners dress!)

Versace (Sleek, Dark and Sexy)

Trend alert!

I've been seeing this everywhere and I'm really curious...how can we make this work on the streets?

The trend? Underwear as outerwear. The last time we saw it was the 1980's (and it's back!)

Here it is on the runway

Bottega Veneta, spring/summer 2010

D&G 2010

Lanvin 2010

This is why I love it...now how to get it?

Try suspenders and stay-ups, as well as corset-style dresses and tops.

Who better to try this trend than Rihanna?

Who is... Stella McCartney?

Stella McCartney is one of the top designers of today. She herself is a vegetarian and uniquely does not use fur or leather in her designs. At a tender age of 38, she has built her empire and is only gaining popularity.

This is a piece she did for Chloe in 2001 (the year her career was launched).

Here are some runway looks from Spring 2010. You can see her England roots shine through.

We can also see the fall trend; thigh-high boots. She did them right.

Her vegan-friendly bag:

She also works with Kate Moss (a fellow British wonder). Kate Moss actually walked in Stella's runway show upon graduation from Central Saint Martins College of Art

We definitely haven't heard the last from this fabulous established yet up-and-coming designer.

Behind the Scenes of our editorial & Promo shoot

We forgot our camera (sad face) so I just took pictures from my blackberry, I didn't take a lot.

Special thanks to Naphtali ( photographer), Shawna Renee (make-up artist & Hair), Heidi (Patent Stylist), Erin (Stylist's Intern), The Dits Tricks and Georgette for making this happen.

From the Fashion Archives - The 1960's

This decade is all about showing social movements by your clothing choices. It also birthed the still-popular bikini style bathing suit, as well as the mini skirt and iconic prints such as tie-dye and paisley.

In the early sixties, the Mods (London Modernists) helped shape the fashion trends for men (think The Beatles).

Designers noticed that young adults were the main consumers, so they started basing their designs on the young lifestyle, only to their massive success.

Ah, the Stiletto. They became popular during this decade, along with A-line dresses, sleeveless shift dresses and fluorescent colours.

Who could forget the hippies? Their style is so unique; peasant blouses, gypsy-style skirts, scarves and bangles.

And last but not least, one of my favourite style icons, the beautiful Brigitte Bardot in her prime.

Jewellery Watch

My boyfriend got me two pairs of cute wooden earrings for Valentine's Day, and it made me realize how much I love jewelry of all kinds! I decided to try and find a few pairs of earrings to add to my collection, and these are the ones I couldn't live without:

Nautically-inspired accessories a la Chanel 2010

I've always had a thing for black jewellery, and I LOVE these

Found these adorable earrings, but they were a bit out of my price range

Tiffany's colour, for 1/64th of the price! ($6.80 from Forever 21- WOW)
